## Overview

 

 

 

The compact design of the discfilter results in 2-3 times more filter area compared to drumfilters of the same external dimensions. This makes it a good choice for recirculation systems, effluent polishing of wastewater, fine filtration of intake water, or other applications where a space-saving filter with fine filter openings and large filter area is required. Hydrotech Discfilter is a mechanical and self-cleaning product that offers a large filter area in a small footprint. It is ideal for use in municipal effluent polishing and industrial water reuse.

### How Hydrotech Discfilter Works

Hydrotech Discfilter uses woven cloth filters mounted on multiple discs providing a large filter area in a small footprint. The filter media on the partially submerged discs filters solids from the water. Accumulated solids are cleaned via the counter-current backwash system. Filtered water flows through the disc media to be collected in the collection tank. Hydrotech Discfilter units are in widespread use worldwide, finding applications in stormwater treatment, membrane pretreatment, phosphorous removal, water reuse and wastewater filtration.
